Sreepuram English Medium School  Sreepuram English Medium High School & Junior College started in the year 1984, and owned by the Arch Diocese of Kottayam, is situated in Kannur, beside the National Highway. His Grace Arch Bishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt is the Grand Patron of this noble Institution. It is a co-educational institution and has student strength of about 3500 who profess different religions and hail from different socio- economic background. The school is affiliated to the Indian Council of Secondary Examination, New Delhi (ICSE). This Management has an Arts & Science College, Training College & five different schools under ICSE Syllabus in the rural areas of Kannur, Kasaragod & Wayanad Districts. Our motto is “Wisdom Reflection of Eternal Light”.   To make  learning enjoyable and  easier,  teaching has been made practical oriented as far as the  science subjects are concerned. Teachers also   make use of the LCD Projector and Computers for all subjects.   The school has   five modern laboratories.   Each   of these  labs  can   accommodate comfortably around 50 students. The labs have got all necessary equipment which enables both the secondary and senior secondary students to do all the necessary practicals. Computer Science is taught from class I and as it is more of a practical oriented subject, there are quiet a number of computers and their accessories. These are kept in two labs. There is also a good library and reading room. The number of books in the library is regularly enhanced by adding books of high value and literary content. In addition to that the school subscribes to a number of news papers and journals. These periodicals will give the students an up -to date knowledge of current affairs. A lot of emphasis is laid on co –curricular activities. We have among our students quite a number of budding artists – dancers, singers, actors and so on. Recently we have conducted an elaborate Science Exhibition. In the available space that we have in the campus that lies in the midst of five multi-storied buildings and the newly built Auditorium cum lab block, we have also a new Volley ball and Basket ball court. There are also facilities for indoor games. The students are encouraged to make use of all these facilities. The school follows the syllabus and guidelines of the Council. Apart from languages and all the major science subjects- History, Geography, and Civics are taught. Moral Science is taught to all students from I to XII as we believe that the students should be morally and ethically sound. We run a Counseling Centre to enhance mental health to our students. The teaching faculty has 150 teachers and 25 non- teaching staffs. They are all qualified and experienced. The whole group can be termed as being highly dedicated and conscientious. It is due to their valuable service that the school had achieved great successes in the academic and non – academic fields. Their motivation is the real harbinger of success and that will continue. The school has a vibrant and dynamic Management and Parents Teachers Association (PTA). These two essential components of the school strive hard for the smooth functioning of the school. The contributions of all together have a telling effect on the physical and academic growth of the school. And from what it is now, it can only grow further.
